Vaccarin C (Compound VIII) is a cyclic heptapeptide with good antifungal activity, with MIC values of 6 ??g/mL against the pathogenic fungi and dermatophytes M. audouinii and T. mentagrophytes. Vaccarin C has high cytotoxicity against Dalton lymphoma ascites (DLA) and Ehrlich ascites carcinoma (EAC) cell lines, with IC50 values of 3.35 and 5.72 ??M, respectively.
