Polymyxin B2
Description
Polymyxin B2 is a polypeptide antibiotic with antibacterial activity particularly against Gram-negative bacteria. Polymyxin B2 binds to lipopolysaccharide molecules on the bacterial cell membrane, disrupting membrane integrity and causing leakage of cellular contents, thereby killing bacteria. Polymyxin B2 can be used in research on Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection and acute enteritis.
