Description
DRGN-1 is an antimicrobial peptide. DRGN-1 exhibits potent antibacterial and anti-biofilm activity, inhibiting Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria with EC50 values ranging from 0.50 to 4.62 ??M. DRGN-1 exerts its antibacterial effects by disrupting bacterial membrane permeability and mildly depolarizing the membrane potential. DRGN-1 inhibits biofilm formation of single species and mixed species of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus. DRGN-1 significantly promotes wound healing in both uninfected and mixed-biofilm-infected mice. DRGN-1 can be used in infection research.
