AcrAP2
Description
AcrAP2 is an antimicrobial peptide present in the venom of the Arabian scorpion (Androctonus crassicauda). AcrAP2 has inhibitory effects on Gram-positive bacteria and yeast but is essentially inactive against Gram-negative bacteria. The cation-enhanced AcrAP2 analog (AcrAP2a) shows significant antiproliferative effects against certain human cancer cell lines at low concentrations. AcrAP2 can be used in research in the fields of antibacterial and anti-tumor therapy.
