Description
Human Defensin-5 (1-9) is an orally active antimicrobial peptide. Human Defensin-5 (1-9) inhibits metabolic disorders induced by a Western diet (WSD) or a fructose-containing Western diet (WSDF). Human Defensin-5 (1-9) enhances intestinal barrier function by upregulating the gene expression of ileal tight junction proteins and mucins. Human Defensin-5 (1-9) can be used in research on obesity and related metabolic diseases.
