Citrocin
Description
Citrocin is a potent inhibitor of bacterial RNA polymerase (RNAP). Citrocin shows significant inhibitory activity against Escherichia coli RNA polymerase, with MIC values ranging from 16 to 125 ??M. Citrocin specifically binds to RNA polymerase and inhibits its activity, thereby blocking bacterial transcription, and enters cells mainly through the inner membrane protein SbmA. Citrocin is expected to be used in research on Gram-negative bacterial infections, such as enterohemorrhagic E. coli.
