Berninamycin A
Description
Berninamycin A is a cyclic thiopeptide antibiotic first isolated from S. bernensis. It inhibits protein biosynthesis in Gram-positive bacteria by binding to ribosomal subunits. Cyclic thiopeptide antibiotics, including Berninamycin A, can induce the transcriptional activator TipA in Streptomyces.
