Allatostatin (AST)
Allatostatins (AST) are pleiotropic neuropeptide hormones in insets and crustacean, the major functions are the inhibition of juvenile hormone synthesis, and control of food intake. There are three distinct Allatostatin types: A, B, C.
- Allatostatin I is a tridecapeptide.
- Allatostatin II is a decapeptid.
- Allatostatin III is Nonapeptide
- Allatostatin IV is an octapeptide.
